Jenny Wilson - TRAUMA - vinyl

TRAUMA is thematically a companion piece to Jenny Wilson's 2018 album 'Exorcism' but moves in a electronic / symphonic soundscape. The songs were written with a symphony orchestra in mind – inspired by legends as Bernard Hermann, Philip Glass, Zbigniew Preisner and Kraftwerk. Made in collaboration with conductor Hans Ek and co-producer Johannes Berglund and originally released in 2019.

”I contacted Hans Ek after I’d heard his interpretations of Kraftwerk. I was totally stunned - how on earth could a full symphony orchestra sound like the synthesizers and beats that I grew up with? I fucking loved it! This inspired me to work with my own music in a similar way – to use a symphony as my ”machine”! It’s easy to get afflicted with hybris when you hear 85 amazing musicians play the music you’ve composed. If the music on TRAUMA is as far from ”DIY” as you can get, the lyrics are the most private and raw I’ve accomplished.” - Jenny Wilson
